As Tesoros, The Philippines in a Store, marks its 75th year in 2020, the iconic establishment welcomes another noted Filipino brand, Veloso by Malu & Letlet. The partnership was featured recently in the 15th edition of Tesoros’ Disenyo at Talento Talks at Tesoros’ flagship store at 1016 Arnaiz Avenue Makati City. Malu and Letlet, of course, is the mother-daughter team of designers known for their dreamy bridal wear made mostly of the finest local fabrics and embroidery.

Long before the arrival of today’s notable and famous names in Filipino fashion, there was Marina Antonio and a host of other local designers who championed Filipino embroidery techniques that are exclusive to the country’s artisans.

The Veloso Fashion House was founded  in the 1940’s by Marina Antonio. Now its successors–couturiers Malu Veloso and Letlet Veloso, Marina’s daughter and granddaughter, respectively, continue channeling the timeless elegance and grace Filipino fashion is known for with this latest partnership with Tesoros, a limited edition collection of bridal and formal wear inspired by updated versions of the Filipiniana.

“Enduringly feminine, forever Filipina,” these words best describe the Veloso brand said a post event literature.

Made mostly from locally sourced piña and jusi fabrics, the Veloso X Tesoros collection, which is now available at Tesoros’ flagship store in Makati, is composed of bridal ensembles, formal gowns, ternos, shawls, jackets, jewelry and many more.

Tesoros’ partnership with the Veloso brand is driven by a shared vision to promote and innovate Filipino fashion. Despite the onslaught of global fast-fashion brands and the homogeneity of labels, Filipinos can still opt for traditional but modern and world-class Filipino wear that not only instills pride in the wearer, but also makes her look good and, as millennials love to say these days, Instagrammable. The collaboration is anchored on the ideal that today’s Filipinos can still enjoy and proudly wear what is truly and identifiably Filipino.

It’s also a testament to Tesoros’ belief that Filipino fashion is as good as anywhere else in the world–amazing quality that’s amazingly affordable.

Tesoro’s has always tried to live up to its promise to carry only the best quality crafts from all over the archipelago. Working hand-in-hand with Filipino artisans has brought the company where it is today – “The home of Philippine crafts, fashion and giftware.”

As an offshoot of this development, an exhibit of 1940s to 1960s heritage collection by Marina Antonio is now showcased at Tesoros, 1016 A. Arnaiz Ave. Makati. The store is open every day, including Sundays.

For fashion and couturier consultations, Malu and Letlet Veloso will be at Tesoros every Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. To book an appointment, please contact:
