Fresh off the release of their third studio album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, The 1975 is heading back to Manila for a fourth time as they announce their Asian tour dates in 2019.

The Manchester-based pop rock band made the announcement on their official Facebook page last Monday, getting their fan base fired up for the tour as Matthew Healy, George Daniel and the rest of the guys bring their iconic tunes back to Asia. Their Asian tour kicks off later next year in Seoul on September 6 and will make stops in Hong Kong on September 8, Manila on September 11, Bangkok on September 13 and Singapore on September 16.

The 1975 last played in the Philippines in 2016 for the “In the Mix” music festival at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, which had a lineup that consisted of star acts like Panic! at The Disco and Third Eye Blind. For next year’s concert in Manila, the band will be playing at MOA Arena once more.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, which was released under the record label Dirty Hit/Polydor, is the band’s most imaginative album yet. Lauded by NME as the “millennial answer to [Radiohead’ s] OK Computer,” the album is clever, creative and thoughtful. And, as any byproduct of The 1975 would be, sincere and emotional.

It showcases the maturation of “Matty” through his pop superstardom—how he’s risen, fallen and risen back up again amidst bouts with his personal demons. Of all things, however, the album talks about love, taking shape in different genres and forms. It also unknowingly pays homage to artists such as Ian Curtis, Thom Yorke and Morissey as well, following that soft, sad pop sound formula we all know and love.

This album will be the band’s third consecutive UK No. 1 album. According to Billboard.com, The 1975 is the first British band since Arctic Monkeys to debut at No.1 in the UK with their first three albums.

Tickets are now available at SM Tickets. Visit https://the1975.com/ for additional information.
