Be ready to reminisce on your favorite movie soundtracks, as The Peninsula Manila, in partnership with Store Specialists, Inc. and HSBC, welcomes the holiday season with original music compositions adapted from well-known movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Wizard of Oz and more.
Dubbed as the “Christmas Concert at The Pen,” artists such as Asia’s Golden Girl Gerphil Flores, the University of Santo Tomas Singers, leading violinist Coke Bolipata and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Ruggero Barbieri will serenade The Peninsula Manila Lobby on December 8. Music from the movies The Godfather, Evita, Ben Hur and the James Bond series will also be featured.
The concert will also serve as a fundraiser for the Hope for the Philippines, an advocacy of the five-star hotel which continues to benefit the educational and livelihood projects of families living in The Peninsula-Gawad Kalinga Village in Tanauan, Leyte.
“I am sure this [movie soundtracks] will add a new energy to the concert and will engage our guests and patrons in a different way, allowing them to realize how key music is to a film. Of course, we haven’t forgotten to include Christmas carols to this year’s concert. This is our Pamaskong handog, after all,” concludes The Peninsula Manila General Manager Masahisa Oba.
