As the city’s streets light up for the most wonderful time of the year, it’s time to make a pitstop at Century City Mall to make the most of the season. With the theme “Christmas Around the World,” the mall has lined up activities for the holidays that will surely delight the young and young-at-heart and make every day merry and bright.
To kickoff the festivities, a Christmas tree lighting event took place recently at the mall’s Skyloft. To set the mood and fill the space with sweet music, Expression Music Philippines serenaded guests with Christmas songs. Red and gold holiday trees lit up at the mall’s 4th level, launched as the Skyloft and featuring new tenants and concepts. Johnson Go, Century Properties Group (CPG) president for retail and leasing, Marco R. Antonio, the company’s president and chief executive officer and Ambassador Jose E.B. Antonio, CPG’s executive chairman, were present to lead the tree lighting.
Since Christmas is also the best time for surprises, mallgoers were treated to a flash mob performance by Children’s Joy Foundation, making the annual tree lighting ceremony even more fun and memorable. Greenpeace Philippines was also present to encourage celebrating the Yuletide season in more earth-conscious ways. After the tree lighting event, guests also got to watch a special screening of the latest “Charlie’s Angels” at the cinema.
Jolly days ahead
Families will surely have a grand time taking photos of the mall’s south and north entrances – both of which are spruced up with Christmas lights, hot air balloons and gift decors. Aside from the shopping and prepping for holiday gatherings, those who will visit the mall can participate in the different activities happening from November to December.
Catch the Christmas carols every payday, Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., until December 25. The mall has invited different groups and organizations to serenade mallgoers on the said dates.
The merry days are made sweeter with treats for you and your furry friend. In partnership with Scout’s Honor, the mall will have “25 Days of Cookie Giveaway” and “A Christmas Boop Treat” from December 1 to 25. To avail of the former giveaway, you need to present a minimum single receipt purchase worth P800 to get a FREE Christmas hot air balloon cookie. Bringing your pets to the mall? Dress them up in a cute holiday costume and snap a photo at any mall décor area to get a boop treat from Scout’s Honor
To celebrate the true meaning of the season, there will also be Simbang Gabi and a Christmas Mass at the Padre Pio Da Pietrelcina Chapel located on the 5th level of Century City Mall. Mass schedule is as follows:
- December 8 – Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 8PM
- December 15 to 23 – Simbang Gabi, 8PM
- December 10, 17, and 24 – Sunday Mass, 11AM
- December 24 – Christmas Eve Mass, 5:30PM
- December 25 – Christmas Day Mass, 5:30PM
- December 31 – New Year’s Eve Mass, 5:30PM
- January 1 – New Year’s Day Mass, 5:30PM
Last, but definitely not the least, Century City Mall will run on the second weekend of December the SHOPAHOLIC ALL IN promo, which will reward shoppers with a 10 percent rebate for a minimum spend of P1,000 up to a maximum of P50,000 in the mall and a chance to win other fabulous prizes. To run simultaneously with Shopaholic All In on the same weekend is Holiday Flavors—a food bazaar at the Level 4 Skyloft in partnership with food concepts purveyor Let’s Eat Pare.
