Couture for a Cause

The Makati Shangri-La, Manila’s grand ballroom was the setting recently for the 12th Annual Best Dressed Women of the Philippines Awards Ball.

Since its inception, the charity event has raised millions of pesos for the Philippine Cancer Society’s various programs.According to Angola Consul Helen Ong, the event’s chairperson, “ In 2015, the first PCS mobile clinic bus donated by Victory Liner was outfitted with a cryotherapy machine, a cryotank and an autoclave — all made possible due to the funds raised by the ball.”

This year, 12 women were named “Best Dressed” awardees while two other women, Grace Ong Gobing and Joy Wambangco-Rustia, were presented with the style icon award.

Considered one of the premier annual charity events in Metro Manila, the ball is normally “sold out” weeks before the actual date and this year was no exception.
