‘Cuisine compass’: The International Food Exhibition returns to Manila

The 11th edition of the International Food Exhibition Philippines (IFEX) returns to Manila this May! If you’ve ever set out to discover ingredients that go into your favorite Asian dishes and have them in your very own kitchen, this is the summer event for you.

Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Center for International Trade Expositions & Missions (DTI-CITEM) with the support of the Department of Agriculture, the event is considered to be the the biggest and most respected sourcing platform for Southeast Asian heritage food and ingredients.

As different Asian cuisines gain popularity and recognition around the world, the Philippines becomes the proud host of the region’s much anticipated trade fair featuring unique tropical fruits, vegetables, fresh and processed seafood, sauces and condiments as well as other food products and beverages.

“As partners for change in engaging the world, DTI-CITEM envisions the upcoming IFEX Philippines 2017 as a cuisine compass for international food industry players and market buyers that want to source premium food and ingredients in the Southeast Asian region, particularly in the Philippines,” says CITEM executive director Rosvi Gaetos.

CITEM has tapped leading companies from ASEAN countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and is excited to reveal that exhibitors from China, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey will also be present, fostering unity and synergy among nations in the region.

Carrying the theme “Taste ASEAN” this year, IFEX is not only open to buyers, but also encourages Philippine and international exporters and manufacturers to participate.

The trade fair will run from May 19 to 21, 2017 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Interested parties may contact Rowena Mendoza at (02) 831 2336 or 2201 local 257 or send an email to rmendoza@citem.com.ph. Visit www.ifexphilippines.com for more information.
