It’s always sunny in Manila with super hip and trendy — and most importantly pocket friendly — sunglasses and glasses frames brand Sunnies.
Business partners and couple Eric Dee Jr., and Bea Soriano-Dee along with cousins Georgina Wilson and Martine Cajucom are the brains and brawn behind the exceedingly popular brand.
Sunnies quickly moved from our peripheral vision to front and center since the launch of its first boutique in SM Mall of Asia back in 2013.
Beginning with a spectacular collection of sunglasses that were affordable as they were stylish and then expanding their lines to include glasses frames, fashionistas, bloggers and everyone in between flocked to stores. Three years down the line and counting, the crowds in every Sunnies boutique don’t appear to be thinning out anytime soon.
Their next project? Sunnies Specs.
Sunnies Specs give Sunnies fans more to love and appreciate about the brand by providing prescription eyewear. That is, shoppers can go to a Sunnies store, get an eye exam, pick out a style, get their new glasses graded (with the option of getting special lenses that offer additional protection and features), pick them up in two hours or so for round P1,999 and voila! They’ll be selfie ready before the day ends.
“It started when people kept asking if we could make prescription eyewear,†shares marketing director Georgina Wilson during the launch of Sunnies Specs last July 6, “Customers tell us that they love our frames and that they want to get everything they need all in one place, and so we did it for them.â€
This expansion to the Sunnies experience have yet to become permanent addition in their boutiques, so watch out for Sunnies pop up shops for now.
With celebrities, social influencers and bloggers all in attendance at the Sunnies Specs launch held on July 6 in a hip house party, Sunnies lovers can expect to look just as effortlessly chic and fashion forward with a new pair of Sunnies Specs.
