Classic meets contemporary this mid-autumn festival as guests can look forward to a sumptuous selection of mooncakes at Canton Road beginning August 13.
Originally held as a tribute for the end of harvest season, the festival falls on the 15 th day of the 8th lunar month, said to be the time when the moon is at its brightest and fullest. The mooncake, its traditional delicacy, is a pastry deemed to be a sweet highlight to the already vibrant festivities.
The pastry is usually filled with lotus or sweet bean paste with a salted egg yolk center. This year, Canton Road continues its tradition of marrying classic and contemporary flavors in its sweet and savory collection. Flaky Pineapple, White Lotus with Salted Egg Yolk, Flaky Red Bean with Pine Nuts and Mixed Nuts round up the traditional selection, while the contemporary contenders Red Velvet and Black Forest flavors complete the menu. Prices for the individual mooncakes are at P388++ per piece.
Drop by the mooncake counter located at the hotel lobby on Level 2 and gift family, friends and business colleagues with custom Shangri-La mooncake boxes. The Classic box comes with eight miniature mooncakes at P2,888, while the Deluxe box comes with 12 miniature mooncakes and is priced at P3,988. Guests may also purchase individual mooncakes and pick up orders at the counter as well.
For those who wish to purchase their mooncake boxes early, guests may have up to 25 percent savings on all boxed orders (not valid on per piece basis) from August 13 to August 26, 2018. There is no minimum or maximum order required. Please note that discounts are applied on the prices before tax.
Closing date for order form submission is on September 24, 2018. For bulk orders of 10 boxes and above, pre-order of 48 hours is required.
