PAL Frequent flyers and shoppers gain more advantages

With their “Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop,” Philippine Airlines, through Mabuhay Miles, partners with SM Advantage Card to expand and make it easier for Filipinos to earn points to shop or travel more often to any local or international destinations they fancy.

Two of the country’s longest-running customer loyalty programs have decided to team up to deliver a new and intuitive way for you to cash-in on your vacation trips or benefit from one of your many shopping sprees. With “Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop,” frequent flyers of Philippine Airlines (PAL) can now convert their Mabuhay Miles loyalty points into SM Advantage Card (SMAC) points, and vice versa.

With the recent contract-signing held at Conrad Manila in Pasay City, PAL and SM customers can now enjoy the best of both worlds by exchanging 500 Mabuhay Miles points to 50 SMAC points at any PAL ticketing office or by visiting their website at mabuhaymiles.com. With SMAC, you can convert 250 SMAC points into 100 Mabuhay Miles points through their mobile app or via their website at smac.ph.

With your Mabuhay Miles points, customers can now fly more to any local and international destinations they fancy. Alongside these travel perks, they can also shop ’til they drop at any SM Store, SM Supermarket, Hypermarket, Savemore, or at any retail brands affiliated with SM. With five million Mabuhay Miles members and six million SMAC members across 4,000 stores nationwide, the “Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop” campaign is part of Philippine Airlines’ 81st anniversary offerings. For SMAC, on the other hand, it’s an affirmation of its continuous efforts to evolve and elevate its member benefits and privileges as a way of thanking and rewarding SM’s loyal customers.

“PAL Mabuhay Miles continues to evolve as a pervasive lifestyle program that offers everything that makes the heart of the Filipino beat–travel, shopping, dining, and more,” Capt. Stanley Ng, PAL president and COO, says with confidence.

Digital Advantage Corp. CEO Keving Hartigan-Go adds that they are “very pleased with this partnership to further ignite the Filipinos’ passion for traveling and shopping as we help push the country towards a full economic recovery.” He adds that this campaign aims to help promote “further engagement and customer delight to both SM shoppers and PAL flyers.”
