Planning on taking that dream vacation anytime soon to Thailand and beyond? Thinking of visiting friends and family in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East? Can’t wait to experience anew Thai Airways’ award-winning “Smooth as Silk” service?

You could avail of huge discounts and get the best deals from Thai Airways at the ongoing THAI Travel Fair at the atrium of Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong. Organized by Thai Airways, in cooperation with MasterCard and a number of partner banks, the much-awaited annual travel fair offers flights to Bangkok from as low at (US) $120, Europe from as low as $568 and Dubai from as low as $390.

The three-day THAI Travel Fair opened yesterday and will end tomorrow, October 14. Malu Oclarence-Dueñas, Thai Airways district sales manager, welcomed special guests at the ribbon cutting, which formally opened the travel fair. She shared how Thai Airways has once more led the competition in a number of key aspects that make travel such a pleasant and even fun experience.

“If the movie industry has its Oscar Awards and the music industry has its Grammy awards, the airline industry also has its Skytrax awards,” said Malu. “This year, Skytrax surveyed 19.87 million travelers across 105 countries and asked them about the products and services of 320 airlines and they voted Thai Airways first place in three categories: World’s Best Economy Class Airline; World’s Best Economy Class Onboard Catering and World’s Best Airport Spa Lounge.”

“I’ll be honest with you,” she went on to say. “Most world-class airlines today have pretty much the same aircraft type, the same seat configuration, the same engines. Where we differ is not all offer culture and only one offers our trademark Thai hospitality.”

But bargain-hunters don’t have to wait until they board one of Thai Airways’ flights to experience a pleasant hour or so of respite and a preview of what awaits them should they fly TG—aka Thai Airways.

“During our three-day travel fair, we won’t just be issuing tickets. We will bring you our concept of ayatana,” Malu promised.

Ayatana is service that customers feel with the heart and experience with their senses. The THAI Travel Fair has put up five experiential booths including a massage area, for this purpose.

“Which is why we will cover all touch points of our valued passengers’ entire journey—from the time they make a booking to when their tickets are issued, to the time they check in at the airport (through a mock conveyor) or make arrangements for their favorite Siberian Husky to be lovingly transported through Thai (Airways) Cargo,” said Malu.

As added attractions, the three-day travel fair will feature today, October 13, dancers from the Alcazar Cabaret and a Thai cooking demonstration by Filipino Chef Sandy Daza. Café Amazon will also be giving out samples of some of their drinks.

As a whole, Thai Airways aims to be the “first choice carrier with touches of Thai,” which stems from the airline’s philosophy of providing full service to premium passengers while maintaining the highest standards of service to leisure travelers.

Thai Airways’ competitive advantage is having its valued passengers experience the much-admired Thai culture and hospitality as soon as they board the aircraft and experience its “Smooth As Silk” Royal Orchid Service.

Thai Airways flies twice daily between Manila and Bangkok with convenient connections to more than 70 destinations worldwide. For more information, visit www.thaiairways.com.ph.IMG_3547
