OPPO’s new flagship model is bringing smartphone photography to the next level

OPPO unveiled its much-awaited OPPO F7 phone at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel last April 19. This new model is slated to be the brand’s selfie powerhouse thanks to its 25MP front-facing camera powered by state-of-the-art beautification feature, A.I. Beauty Technology 2.0, which targets 296 facial recognition spots for precise facial customization regardless of gender.

The phone also features a 6.23-inch Super Fill Screen Display with 2280×1080 Full HD+ resolution, as well as a 12NM Octa-Core Processor with two dedicated artificial intelligence cores and 4GB RAM for faster processing. It can carry up to 64 GB of memory storage, which can then be further expanded using a MicroSD card. The model is priced at P17,990.00 and is available in solar red and moonlight silver.

“The OPPO F7 definitely changes—and upgrades—the selfie game of users with its groundbreaking features,” said Eason de Guzman, OPPO Philippines public relations manager. “With a best-in-class 25MP front-facing camera, improved performance for multi-tasking, and a sleek, stylish body, the F7 will surely be a hit among Filipino smartphone users and selfie enthusiasts.” According to OPPO, more than 25,000 F7 units were pre-ordered, thus surpassing the company’s original pre-order expectations.

In a recent survey conducted by OPPO, 48 percent of Filipino respondents admitted to taking two to five selfies a day, with 42 percent of those respondents stating that they post their selfies on social media. In 2014, both Makati City and Pasig City were named the world’s selfie capitals, with 258 selfie takers in every 100,000 people. Cebu City was ranked as the ninth city with the most selfie takers, averaging at 99 selfie takers per 100,000 people.
